2021Connect University Online Session: An overview on the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act
Organised by DG CONNECT
Description
The rapid and widespread development of digital services has been at the heart of the digital changes that impact our daily lives. Many new ways to communicate, shop or access information online have appeared, and they are constantly evolving. With these developments in mind, the European Single Market requires a modern legal framework that ensures the safety of users online, establishes governance with the protection of fundamental rights at its forefront, and maintains fair and open online platform environment.
In this vein, and following the upgrade of the rules governing digital services in the EU, this Connect University session will present the two legislative initiatives that encompass a comprehensive set of new rules for all digital services, including social media, online market places, and other online platforms that operate in the European Union: the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). These initiatives are meant to create a safer and more open digital space, with European values at its centre.
Join this Connect University session on 28 January from 14:00 until 16:00 and discover more about this set of new rules for all digital services.
