EU funded Cooperation Projects for Sustainable Fisheries and Aquacultue

Between 2014 and 2020, the EU committed more than 450 million EUR to development cooperation programmes in the field of sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

The InfoPoint session will focus on the results of the EU funded INTPA Fisheries and Aquaculture State of Play development cooperation programs and bring visibility to portfolios and testimonies from the field project.

Leonard Mizzi, the Head of Unit DG INTPA F3 (Sustainable Agri-Food systems and Fisheries) will briefly present on EU and INTPA approaches to sustainable aquatic food systems.

Then, the State of Play document will be presented by Anaïd Panossian. This document takes stock of the EU-funded development cooperation projects in the field of sustainable fisheries and aquaculture from 2014 to 2020.

It will follow the testimony from one of the many funded projects, FISH4ACP, that it will be presented by Maarten Roest from FAO and Foungnigué Traore the National Professional Officer who coordinates the FISH4ACP support to the Nile tilapia Value Chain in in Cote D’Ivoire.

The remaining time will be dedicated to a Q&A session for stakeholders to exchange with the speakers.

The session will be moderated by Fernando Trabada-Crende (DG INTPA F3) who will conclude with main takeaways.
