Manufacturing Data Spaces - Workshop on initial ecosystems

Organised by European Commission

Description

This webinar will provide an overview of initial ecosystems for manufacturing data spaces. We want to discuss how these initiatives fit into the state of the Commission's considerations on Manufacturing Data Spaces. Participants are invited to discuss on how to identify embryonic data spaces and how they develop from platforms to ecosystems. And we will outline the next steps towards the call.

European economy it is important that critical industry sectors like manufacturing and process industries, as producers and owners of high-value data, fully support the development of data spaces as a strategic objective and are able to drive the standards and industrial agreements needed. The European Commission wants to support data sharing among manufacturing companies and with (service) providers by the facilitation of two data spaces, which will serve as a model to show how sharing industrial data improves company operations, enhances business opportunities, and supports the transition towards a circular economy. We expect that manufacturing data spaces and their AI-based analytics and optimisation applications can improve not only company-internal processes but also processes across organisations.

To reach this objective, EU Commission organized a series of online workshops dedicated to discuss on what can be done to implement data spaces. This webinar will aim at moving forward the open debate on how build up manufacturing data spaces for Europe. It will showcase and discuss what already exists, what could be starting points, and how to build on them.

Experts, companies, and business associations are invited to join this online workshop on initial ecosystems for manufacturing data spaces. The speakers will provide an overview of the opportunities and prospects for growth they see for data in manufacturing. We want to learn from the experience that is already available, and where there are already connectivity opportunities now. The participants will be invited also to discuss on how to identify embryonic data spaces and how they develop from platforms to ecosystems. And we will also discuss the next steps towards the call for proposals.
