Webinar on EU Science Diplomacy in the Post-COVID Era

Organised by EURAXESS North America

Description

EURAXESS North America will lead a webinar addressing the current state of European science diplomacy and various topics surrounding the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the opportunities ahead based on lessons learned and common goals.

Speakers will represent the European Commission and its two current science diplomacy projects, via the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, InsSciDE, and S4D4C, and will include remarks from EURAXESS North America as well.

The panel will build conversations around the EU science diplomacy, with speakers providing views on best practices/projects/priorities of managing cross-border collaborations during the pandemic, with their observations and expectations for the future.

The speakers will be asked how they have addressed the policies/practices/actors/stakeholders intended to advance science diplomacy (SD) and/or science policy, the current challenges of the pandemic, and discuss their approaches to supporting international science, technology, and innovation (STI) partnerships during the COVID-19 pandemic. They will also share current insights and future prospects from the EU for finding solutions for global societal needs and goals.

The free virtual event will take place on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 at 12:00 noon Eastern Time / 6:00 PM Central European Time. Convert to your local time zone here.
