EU ALUMNI meets Model European Union
On 14th October 2021, the EU ALUMNI Initiative together with the EU Delegation to the Republic of Korea hosted an EU ALUMNI event on the occasion of this year’s Model European Union (MEU). The MEU is a simulation of the decision-making processes within the Council of the European Union and aims at increasing understanding of the EU's institutions and processes among students.
The simulation was implemented together with the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and accompanied by Jean Monnet Professors that are experts in the field of European Studies.
Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event could take place in person on the campus of Hankuk University. Mr Patrick Polaksec welcomed the alumni on behalf of the EU Delegation to South Korea and Mr Seung Hyun Kim, member of the Erasmus Mundus Association, introduced the EU ALUMNI Initiative.
The reception brought together current and former participants of MEU simulations in South Korea, as well as alumni from other EU funded programmes. EU Alumni and EU Diplomats had time to talk and to get to know each other better in a relaxed setting. Follow-up activities have been envisaged
The Republic of Korea is one of the eleven pilot countries of the EU ALUMNI Initiative. If you are an EU Alumni in Korea and are interested in our activities, just subscribe and stay tuned!
