Europe Day in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam
The first virtual event of EU ALUMNI was co-organised with the EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the initial idea to organise a physical gathering between the EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam and the EU ALUMNI project could unfortunately not be implemented as planned. Instead, a virtual gathering was organised on 9 May 2020, on the occasion of Europe Day.
The event was structured in varied sequences and comprised many elements of interaction. With more than 80 participants attending, the Ambassador spoke about his career path and experience in Indonesia and participants had the chance to ask questions via the chat. After a short presentation of the EU ALUMNI initiative, the participants were asked for their input on their interest of being part of the Alumni Community and how cooperation between EU Alumni and the EU Delegation could be fruitful and positive.
Afterwards, the Ambassador reported on current developments of COVID-19 and the European Green Deal and answered the questions of the participants. In the Ambassador’s closing remarks he announced further events.
